problem
PCOS is a chronic hormonal condition that affects both physical health and emotional well-being, yet most existing solutions address symptoms in isolation. Without clear, psychologically informed guidance, individuals struggle to understand hormonal changes, regulate emotions, and manage PCOS sustainably in daily life.
solution
This project proposes a home-based system for managing PCOS that combines biological data, psychological support, and accessible education. A data-driven system that enables at-home hormone monitoring, translates biological data into psychologically informed guidance through an app, and uses illustrated storytelling to help users anticipate bodily changes, reduce anxiety, and manage PCOS in everyday life.
I designed this project based on my own experience living with PCOS. During my medical journey, I learned that PCOS is often not treated as a “curable disease.” Rather than offering a definitive treatment, clinicians primarily focus on managing its associated complications, such as irregular cycles, metabolic issues, or fertility challenges.
Through this process, I gradually realized that maintaining hormonal stability relies largely on long-term factors such as mental state, daily routines, and lifestyle regulation. However, many people with PCOS are simultaneously navigating intense pressures—from work and academic demands to appearance anxiety and reproductive expectations. These stressors often exacerbate hormonal imbalance, creating a self-reinforcing cycle that is difficult to break.

This project emerged from that tension: the gap between medical management and everyday lived experience, and the need for tools that support not only physical indicators, but also emotional resilience and sustainable self-care.
